How We're Funded...
Three Main Ways...
There are endless creative ways we can raise funds for Staying Alive. The Foundation’s different assets can be tapped into to produce compelling campaigns around a variety of issues around HIV/AIDS. In the past, the Foundation has been funded primarily through three ways:
1. Cause Related Campaigns and Programs:
SAF can work with another company to create and execute a HIV awareness campaign that will help address issues of young people today, as well as help raise funds for the Foundation’s ongoing efforts.
A fantastic example of a successful partnership is between SAF and The Body Shop. Working together during 2007/8, over $1.5m has been raised for the Foundation.
2. Cash Donations:
Financial resources are needed to support the Foundation’s mission and to help aid in delivering grants. Business is becoming a significant contributor to the HIV/AIDS prevention by donating financial resources for these lifesaving programs of prevention, education and awareness campaigns to young people around the world.
3. In-Kind Contributions:
Business expertise, services and materials are needed in every aspect of the Foundation’s work. In-kind contributions from businesses can include the donation of advisory services, seconded personnel, printing, equipment, supplies and access to distribution networks. Companies may offer logistical support and networks for the distribution of vital goods such as condoms and educational materials.
