The Staying Alive Foundation is committed to helping its grantees develop. As well as providing financial support, we also offer all organisations capacity-building training, where they learn to future-proof their work through vital skills including fundraising and strategy planning.

Training in India

SAF held its biggest capacity building workshop yet for its grantees last week in Delhi, India.

A total of 38 participants came from all around the globe – travelling from countries like the US, Australia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Our grantees, all from young and growing organisations, spent 10 intensive days learning vital skills to help increase the sustainability of their organisations.

It was a great workshop with lively participants all keen to learn from each other and enjoy themselves. This is our third workshop so far, having already trained grantees in London and Tanzania. By the end of 2010 we will have trained 150 grantees who will pass on their knowledge to their colleagues and continue their learning through online courses and work placements.

The trainers from Students Partnership Worldwide also came from various countries including Nepal, Uganda, and India. They taught our grantees skills in fundraising, finance, and organisational planning, through interactive and energetic classes.

At least three more workshops like this will be held before the end of the year, in Asia, South America and Africa.

Below a few of our grantees talk to us about what the training meant to them.
