The Body Shop
Over the past three years, The Body Shop has been one of the biggest partners for the Foundation. The multiplatform campaigns ‘Spray to Change’, ‘Move Your Lips’ and ‘Yes Yes Yes’ helped raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and raised funds for the Foundation through the sales of co-branded perfume and lip bitters. The campaigns included on air promos that aired on MTV channels globally, regional press events starring local MTV VJs and musical celebrities, and global microsites. The three campaigns raised over $3 million for the Foundation.
H&M
What do you do when you have celebs that include Katy Perry, Estelle, N.E.R.D, and Tokio Hotel? If you’re H&M, you have them design special customized t-shirts to be sold in H&M stores around the world to benefit the Fashion Against AIDS campaign. The Staying Alive Foundation was one of four charities that received the campaign’s proceeds, bringing in over $400,000 for the Foundation.
Hard Rock Café International
MTV Latin America and Hard Rock International partnered with premiere Latin American artists in the name of charity. The unique initiative brought together a hot line up of Latin American talent as they donated memorabilia to Hard Rock International’s famous memorabilia collection. Hard Rock presented a monetary donation to the Foundation after auctioning off the memorabilia.
Karmaloop & Shepard Fairey
The Staying Alive Foundation teamed up with Karmaloop.com, an independently owned online streetwear retailer, to launch The Karmaloop x MTV Staying Alive Foundation T-shirt. Available online, the T-shirt was exclusively designed by one of today’s most popular and influential street artists, Shepard Fairey, best known for his iconic design of the Barack Obama “HOPE” poster during the 2008 U.S. presidential election.
SAF Ambassador Travis McCoy and MTV VJ Alexa Chung have both rocked the T-shirts to lend their support.
Non-Profit Shopping Mall.com
Non-Profit Shopping Mall.com
SAF is one of the featured charities on nonprofitshoppingmall.com. The website allows consumers to shop online for the things their usual items, from their usual brands, at the usual prices. However, when a consumer chooses to shop through Nonprofitshoppingmall.com, a donation is also made to their favorite charity.
Positive Action
Positive Action has provided SAF with funding so that we can really invest in the future sustainability of our grantees. With Positive Action's funding, our grantees can receive training in organisational capacity building, something which is vital to their future sustainability. On top of this, our grantees are now benefiting from their very own social networking site where they can connect, share, and learn.
Rolls Royce
For the second time, the Staying Alive Foundation and Rolls Royce have joined forces to raise funds for the Staying Alive Foundation. In 2006, Rolls Royce asked artists at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) to sign a backseat of one of its cars. The seat was turned into a sofa and bought by The Hard Rock Cafe, with all the proceeds going to the Foundation. At the 2008 EMAs, Rolls Royce asked artists to sign the bonnet of one of its exclusive cars. They will turn it into another piece of furniture which will again be sold to raise funds for us.
